The library purchases required texts based on the book list that is submitted to The Chicago School's online bookstore. If a required text is not on this list for a given semester, the library is unaware that it will be needed for course reserve and does not purchase the title.

Required texts for each semester are submitted to the bookstore by each program's department manager before the semester begins. For details on the process for required text adoptions and the timeline that those adoptions need to be submitted to the bookstore, please see the university's Textbook and Course Material Submission Policy.

Textbooks cannot be requested via Interlibrary Loan, though digitization/electronic requests for a single chapter can still be made. Please see Requesting an Interlibrary Loan for more details.

For faculty: please reach out to your department manager or program chair and let them know to add the book in question to the required text list in upcoming semesters. The library will purchase a copy of the book following our Required Texts/Reserve Purchasing Guidelines once it is submitted as part of the book list.
